Russ Jackson played quarterback for the Ottawa Rough Riders from 1958 to 1969.

He played on three Grey Champions (1960, '68, '69), was the Eastern Division All-Star quarterback 6 times (1962, '63, '66, '67, '68, '69) and CFL All-Star quarterback in 1966, 1968, and 1969.

He was the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts for two seasons (1975-76), compiling a 12-18-2 record.

Jackson was elected to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1973.
