CFL Player of the Day: Frank Rigney

Frank Rigney played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for 10 seasons (1958-67) and was a member of four Grey Cup Champions (1958, 1959, 1961, 1962). 

Rigney won the Schenley Award for Most Outstanding Lineman in 1961, and was an All-Canadian Offensive Tackle three times (1962, 1965, 1966). He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame in 1985.

After his retirement as a player, he was an analyst on Canadian Football League telecasts on both CBC and CTV and covered the Winter Olympics in 1980 and 1984.

Rigney died on June 29, 2010, at the age of 74.
