News on January 25, 1974

Montreal Alouettes head coach Marv Levy will assume role of general manager in addition to coaching duties. Alouettes have obtained permission from the Toronto Argonauts to negotiate with quarterback Joe Theismann. 

(Note: Marv Levy was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001, and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2021. Joe Theismann signed with Washington in the NFL in 1974 and played for them until a career ending injury in 1985.)
