 My last post here was on May 5, 2023. At that time, I was doing research and contributing to CFLdb and volunteering with The Canadian Football Research Society (CFRS).

Since that time, I have renewed my research of the United Football League and Continental Football League. They were professional minor league leagues back in the 1960s. Both leagues had teams located in Canada. 

My membership with CFRS is about to expire and I have decided not to renew it. There are some nice people involved in the organization, but quite frankly, there is no one providing leadership and there is no value added to belonging.

Still here, just posting less....

Canadian Football History is still an active blog, but there will be fewer posts in the future. Focus has moved to doing research and contributing to CFLdb and volunteering with The Canadian Football Research Society.

Ottawa is unlikely to field a Canadian Football League team in 2001 (note: the CFL returned to Ottawa in 2002, as the Renegades and would play four seasons before suspending operations prior to the 2006 season).

Signing battles expected in Canadian Football League in 1962. Cookie Gilchrist was released by Toronto in July. Later, he signed with the Buffalo Bills and ended up the American Football League's most valuable player.
