Ellison Kelly played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1960-70) and Toronto Argonauts (1971-72). He was an All-Canadian guard in 1964, and All-Canadian tackle three times (1969, '70, '71). He played on three Grey Cup Champions (1963, '65, '67).

Kelly was inducted in to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1992, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Wall of Honour in 1998.

He died on February 16, 2011, at the age of 80.
